Stigma Hyper V4 Tattoo Machine

One of the best-selling tattoo machines, nonetheless one of the most versatile. Read our review and guide to find if this Stigma model is a deal breaker.

Background

The Stigma Hyper V4 is a tattoo machine that follows the traces set by its predecessors as far as versatility and performance are involved. Made from aircraft aluminum, the unit comes anodized in three (3) different colors (red, nuclear green and black).

A range of exciting features also makes it preferred among artists.

One of the things we like best is the universal screw-on connection that makes the machine compatible with all standard needles and cartridge grips. Needless to say, this is a feature offered only by a small selection of devices.

Another remarkable characteristic is the fact that Hyper V4 tattoo machine doesn’t need additional accessories to help you achieve performance.

The unit comes with an adjustable stroke length between 3 and 4 millimeters thanks to the twisting fixed to the Swiss motor. The give can also be set easily from a screw located above the slider, while the separate adjustments give you plenty of flexibility.

The hybrid Hyper V4 comes with an imported 6 watts Swiss motor developed to output smooth running, unrivaled power and torque. With all this characteristics, this motor is capable of running with a minimum voltage of 7v and maximum of 12v.

Based on this, the suggested adjustment for voltage:

  • Lining: 7-8.5 v.
  • Shading: 8.5 a 12v.

As we always say (and will continue mentioning on all our reviews) the voltages is only a suggestion, not a final verdict. Check you hand speed and go from it.

Stigma Hyper V4: Final Comments

The Sigma Rotary Hyper V4 is a fully adjustable machine designed for all purposes. You can use it for lining or shading, while coloring is also possible thanks to the flexibility of this unit.

The swash driven rotary uses standard needles and cartridges, and it operates in the 7-12 volts range. Hyper V4 is also lightweight and comfortable to hold for long periods. At approximately 3.45 ounces, this is, in fact, one of the lightest tattoo machines on the market.

A selection of colors and high-quality choice of materials brings further value for money. With no known cons so far, the Stigma Hyper V4 is also an excellent hybrid tattoo machine (maybe one of the best) you could get your hands on.
